Gemma Fournier, Surgical Technology Program coordinator and professor at Niagara County Community College was recently named the president of the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).The NBSTSA is the certifying agency for surgical technologists in the United Stated. This organization is responsible for all decisions regarding certification-— from determining eligibility to maintaining, denying, granting and renewing the designation. Fournier was first appointed to the NBSTSA in 2018.
