UPDATED: Thursday night shooting in Niagara Falls

At the scene, officers encountered an individual armed with a handgun. Shots were exchanged and, after shots were fired, the individual they encountered was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and pronounced dead. None of the responding officers were hurt.
